Following a broadly political ecology approach, our research examines what makes methane politics different, why progress towards limiting methane emissions has been so slow, and what methane tells us about our global climate and environmental crises.

Project Funding
METHPOL is funded by a European Research Council (ERC) advanced grant. The project runs for 5 years, from the start of 2026 until the end of 2030 – the date targeted by the Global Methane Pledge for a 30% reduction in global methane emissions.
